Plug-in car would fly off lots- NOLA.com

Plug-in car would fly off lots- NOLA.com: "Car dealers complain they don't have any business.

Why should they? They keep trying to push gas-guzzling pickups and SUVs on us. We don't want them!

If the car companies would offer an electric car that plugs in and gets, say, 80 miles to a charge, it would be flying off the lots.

Don't have such a car, you say? I say bull.

Anyone who has seen the documentary 'Who Killed The Electric Car?' would know that GM, Ford, Honda, and Toyota all had an electric car in 1994 with an 80-mile capability, and pulled it off the market due to pressure from the oil companies.

Are the oil companies helping them sell cars now? I think not!

A car like this would take care of 90 percent of daily commutes. People want it.

Make it, and we'll buy it.
