Toyota announces RAV4-EV project with Portland State University - Green Daily: "Toyota decided to bring back the nickel-metal hydride RAV4 and use it to promote the top automaker's green initiatives. They're refurbishing four of these RAV4-EVs from the 2002-2003 model years, and donating them to Portland State University to help build and test the city's fledgling charging infrastructure.
Portland, recently named the most sustainable city in the US, is already hard at work on a network of free standing recharging stations for the next generation of hybrids and EVs. The idea is to use the RAV4s to shuttle people (most likely VIPs) to and from Portland's mass transit stations, using the charging stations as needed."
