In collaboration with BYD Auto, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Renault and the Clinton Climate Initiative, these cities will focus on four key areas necessary for becoming electric vehicle ready.
Initial members of the C40 Electric Vehicle Network are: Bogota, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Copenhagen, Delhi, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Toronto, Sao Paulo, Seoul and Sydney."

All Londoners Will be Within a Mile of a Charging Station by 2015: "London mayor Boris Johnson launched a new plan called the Electric Vehicle Delivery Plan for London that will allow all Londoners to be within one mile of an electric vehicle charging station in five years.
The plan calls for the installation of 25,000 charging points at public, residential and commercial spaces by 2015 in order to encourage the addition of 100,000 EVs within the city ASAP.� The city government is doing their part by committing to add 1,000 EVs to the Greater London Authority fleet over five years."

Siemens to Test Six Minute Charging For EVs on 33% Wind Powered Grid : Gas 2.0: "Sven Holthusen runs the EDISON project at Siemens’ Energy Sector in the Denmark branch of the international engineering giant. The EDISON project is working on raising charging power to as much as 300 kW so that batteries can be recharged on the go, in as little as six minutes.
The idea is to replicate the familiar: filling up at a gas station in 6 minutes or so, not in order to replace long slow overnight charges in home garages but to have an alternative to meet the needs of those apartment-dwellers who don’t have garages (and those who do, but who don’t sleep at least 6 hours at night) by making on-the-go-charges as available and as quick as filling up at a gas station."
